Neuro-

psychotherapy

With recent advances in the understanding of how the brain and mind work, a new approach to psychotherapy has developed, that of Neuropsychotherapy. This holistic approach integrates our understanding of the interactions between the mind, brain, body, social interactions and environment. This understanding is applied to helping to address a wide range of psychological processes and physiological distress (including anxiety, depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and a range of others). The therapist using this approach is grounded in a sound knowledge of the neurobiological underpinnings of mental states and behaviour. They address psychological problems by helping the client to understand and manage perceptions, thoughts/ideas, beliefs and hormonal systems in order to reduce the psychological and bodily symptoms of distress.
