Welcome to Institute of Clinical Psychologists

Our Institute was established more than 30 years ago to represent WA clinical psychologists in private practice and to provide the general public with information about the profession of clinical psychology.

We represent the interests of our members by being a valuable resource to medical and other professions who may wish to refer patients to us - as well as facilitating access for clients to specialised clinical psychology services.

Clinical psychologists provide professional services relating to the diagnosis, assessment, evaluation, treatment and prevention of psychological, emotional, psycho-physiological and behavioural disorders across the lifespan.

Our members are required to work in the approved area of practice: Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist Registrar with the Psychology Board of Australia. This means we have the qualifications and expertise to assist with the widest range of psychological issues, from day to day worries and concerns to serious clinical conditions such as clinical depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and traumatic stress (including but not limited to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder - PTSD) to name a few.

Here on our website, we invite you to learn more about us; search our database and locate a suitable Clinical Psychologist; and visit our information pages and links to find out more about what role clinical psychologists can play in the health care system.

Should you need further information or assistance with finding a clinical psychologist to suit your needs, please contact us.
